CERTIFICATION
Following a program of Continuous Assessment, which is monitored by External Examiners coupled with some Examinations,
 students will receive a Further Education and Training Awards Council, Level 2 Award/Certificate.(FETAC)

Course 1

Information Processing

This is an intensive computer course which is designed to equip students with a wide range of 
Computer Applications Skills.   The course will build confidence and those who complete it will have gained 
improved interpersonal skills.  Graduates of this course will be ideally suited to work in banks, 
building societies, insurance companies and other service institutions.  
Students are required to pass eight modules in order to obtain a FETAC Award Level 5.

Career Opportunities:

Students from this course will have the knowledge and skills to work well with a variety of agencies.  
The course also suits individuals who have deferred a college place and wish to get good 
computer skills while taking a year out.  Most students secure a job in an office when they complete the course.  
The work experience programme gives valuable insights into the workplace and many students obtain full time employment.

 

Graduates may use their qualification to apply for a place in any one of the 
Higher Education Institutes through the Higher Education Links Scheme.

Students are required to pass eight modules in order to obtain a F.E.T.A.C. Award 

Students on the course may be eligible for the P.L.C. grant  
Depending on your income you may also be eligable for the top up Grant and the Back to Education Allowance.

ELIGIBILITY
Leaving Certificate or Leaving Certificate Applied Qualifications.  Mature students who wish to return to Full Time Education
