 Introduction to the Local Youth Club Grant Scheme for 2009

Attention All Youth Groups and Clubs

  Co Roscommon VEC wishes to advise youth groups of the distribution of the 
2010 Local Youth Club Grant Scheme and of forthcoming training workshops:

1.    Local Youth Club Grants:

The VEC has now been allocated its 2010 Local Youth Club Grant Scheme from the Office for the Minister of Children and Youth Affairs. 
This grant is available to volunteer-led youth clubs & groups i.e. groups that are organised and run by volunteers. 
Please note: clubs whose primary focus is sport are not eligible for funding under this scheme. 
Also, groups led by paid staff are not eligible.

In order to receive this grant, youth groups must first be registered with the VEC Youth Office 
(if your group isn’t already registered, then please also complete the Registration Form and return with the Grant Application Form).

The closing date for return of form(s):  Friday, February 26^th, 2010   Note:

a)        Late applications will not be accepted in any circumstances
b)        Form(s) must be returned in hard copy only (not through e-mail)

NB: In order to help groups complete the form accurately, and to assist leaders in networking and sharing of skills, a Grants Workshop is being organised. It will be especially useful for new groups and those that wish to maximise their resources. The details are:

Date:               Saturday, January 30^th

Location:         VEC Head office, Lanesboro St., Roscommon Town

Time:               10am to 12.30pm

2.    Youth Work Toolkit Workshops:

The VEC Youth Office will also be organising a series of workshops throughout the year based on helping leaders and workers develop youth work ‘toolkits’. 
These workshops are open to all, last 2.5 hours, are very practical and user friendly.
